Cyprus Shipping Chamber unites its voice calling for the release of Galaxy Leader’s crew being held captive by the Houthis.

February 20, 2024

Today marks three months since the Houthis seized vehicle carrier Galaxy Leader and its 25-member crew in the Red Sea.

The Cyprus Shipping Chamber in concert with 26 other members of the Maritime Industry from around the world, co-signing a joint statement, unite their voice to express concern for the captive seafarer’s lives and call on the Houthis for their immediate release.

The 25 seafarers who make up the crew of Galaxy Leader are innocent victims of the ongoing aggression against world shipping and their plight is a major concern as the merchant shipping community continues to come under attack.

All efforts must be made by international organisations and States to secure their release.
