VARD with two awards at OSJ

VARD is proud to announce that we together with our partners Rem Purus and Ocean Infinity were awarded with Offshore Energy vessel of the year for the CSOV Rem Power and the Offshore Renewable Award for the Ocean Infinity fleet.

The awards were presented at The Annual Offshore support journal conference in London which is the largest forum for vessel owners, operators, shipbuilders, charterers and suppliers across the global OSV sector.

Rem Power – Offshore Energy vessel of the year

The award goes to the owner, designer and builder of an offshore energy vessel that has set industry benchmarks through innovative design and efficient operation.

Rem Power is built for Rem Purus by Vard Shipyards Braila and Vard Søviknes and designed by VARD.

Rem Power is a diesel-electric and battery-hybrid construction service operation vessel (CSOV), with innovative Rim Drive thrusters from Kongsberg, and prepared for the Ocean Charger project to enable charging at offshore windfarms.

– The award is a great recognition to both designer, shipyard, and shipping company who, together with a number of innovative suppliers, have developed Rem Power into a vessel that has set a new standard in construction and service vessels for offshore wind. We at Rem are proud to share this award with everyone who has contributed and are delighted that this is a genuine product from the world leading maritime cluster in Sunnmøre, Norway, says Lars Conradi Andersen, CEO Rem Offshore.

Congratulations!

Ocean Infinity – Offshore Renewable Award

The award goes to a company, project or product that has made a significant contribution to the development of the offshore renewables market.

Congratulations to Ocean Infinity for their fleet of OSV’s which are designed to leverage advances in remote control and autonomous technologies to improve efficiencies in logistics and reduce its CO2 and GHG emissions.

The vessels are designed by VARD, built outfitted, commissioned, and delivered by Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam and Vard Søviknes in Norway.

Ocean Infinity Commercial Director, Maxime Even, comments the award:

– Ocean Infinity was established seven years ago with the firm belief that being net zero carbon is not about offsetting, but about prioritising the reduction of emissions and limiting residual emissions. From the start we’ve been proud to support the growing renewables sector providing clean energy to millions of homes.

All parts of the offshore energy industry are striving for ways to lessen environmental impacts of their operations. Through the use of remote and robotic technology we’re transforming data acquisition and inspection operations to provide a low-emission, safer alternative for the offshore renewables sector.

SVPs Sales and Marketing in VARD, Runar Vågnes and Christian Utvik are proud of the two awards:

– The recognition of Vard Group as an integrated global designer and shipbuilder is very important to us. These awards show that – together with our customers, we are on the right path to enabling sustainable business at sea fulfilling our vision of leading the green and technological transition in the maritime industry.
