• The Port Authority of València will participate from 7 to 9 February at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2023 in the German capital

 Valenciaport will be present at Fruit Logistica in Berlin, which opens its doors on Wednesday in the German capital, supporting the fruit and vegetable sector and companies specialising in the transport and processing of refrigerated cargo; one of the specialities in which Valencian terminals provide added value and high competitiveness to the Spanish export world.

Fruit Logistica in Berlin is a global reference fair; in this case, focussing on everything to do with the transport, marketing, storage, conservation, etc. of produce from the countryside. During the event, there are numerous activities, conferences and presentations of new products for the knowledge of the participants.

This year there will be talks on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to the logistics value chain, but also on the crossing of horticultural varieties, new varieties of fruit and new technologies and machines for the treatment and conservation of foodstuffs.

Last year, the fair registered more than 60,000 visits; and according to the organisers, more than 40% of exhibitors agreed and signed business transactions “in situ”.

Valenciaport’s presence is aimed at attending to the clients of the Valencian docks and publicising the advantages of its facilities at the service of refrigerated import-export.

The commercial team of the Port Authority of Valencia will attend to visitors, customers and exhibitors from the stand of Puertos del Estado; specifically, from Hall 25 Stand A-61. Its work will focus on explaining with data the importance of cold and refrigerated transport in Valenciaport: nearly 3 million tonnes (fruit and vegetable products such as fruit, citrus fruits, vegetables, tubers, meat and fish) managed during 2023 and 3,250 reefer connections in its terminals: CSP Iberian (Cosco) has 1,500 connections, APM (Maersk) has 750 and MSC Terminal has another 1,000.

Infrastructures provided by the terminal companies, to which must be added the warehouse of the company Americold – which has 16,000 square metres destined exclusively to the logistics of refrigerated products – , the 17,000 square metre Border Control Point (PCF) which, through the Guarantee Mark, guarantees that any container taken to these facilities must be checked in less than 45 minutes and the Border Control Point of the Port of Sagunto; all of them facilities with growing demands.
