LG Electronics is set to unveil its brighter and clearer 2024 LG OLED evo TV, powered by a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) processor, at CES 2024.

At the world’s largest consumer electronics and information technology (IT) exhibition, CES 2024, to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from Jan. 9 to 12, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will showcase new Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) screens that enhance the consumer experience.

On Jan. 3, Samsung Electronics announced plans to reveal its next-generation gaming monitor lineup at CES 2024. The lineup includes three models headlined by the Odyssey OLED G8 featuring a 32-inch 4K UHD resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz.

A notable feature of these three new products is the OLED Glare Free technology, minimizing light reflection. This allows for gaming with consistent brightness and color levels without the need for a separate shading hood. The products have achieved Display HDR TrueBlack 400 certification from the Video Electronics Standards Association, ensuring precise color and contrast representation.

Samsung Electronics will introduce a “Multi Control” feature in some of its new products, enhancing connectivity between Samsung devices and improving user convenience and work efficiency. This feature, included in models like the Odyssey OLED G9, enables control of Samsung Electronics monitors, Galaxy Books, tablets, and smartphones with a single mouse and keyboard, and facilitates easy transfer of images and text. Some new models also come with a built-in “SmartThings Hub,” allowing control of various Internet of Things (IoT) devices without a separate hub, and are equipped with the Samsung Tizen operating system for access to various online streaming services.

In response to Samsung, LG Electronics is also launching a gaming monitor at CES 2024, which can optimize resolution and refresh rate according to content. The model, 32GS95UE, is the world’s first monitor to offer both a high refresh rate mode (FHD, 480Hz) and a high-resolution mode (4K, 240Hz) in a single product.

Simply pressing a dedicated button at the bottom of the monitor allows for mode switching. The high refresh rate mode is ideal for fast-paced first-person shooter (FPS) games, while the high-resolution mode enhances the viewing experience for visually rich games, movies, and videos.

The CES stage this year will witness a fierce battle not only in monitors but also in the TV market between the two companies. LG Electronics, a leader in OLED TV, will unveil its OLED evo TV featuring an AI processor with quadrupled computing performance at CES 2024 on the same day.

Following last year’s launch of the world’s first 97-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED M wireless TV, LG Electronics is expanding its wireless OLED TV lineup to include 65-inch models. Even mid-sized TVs will offer a world-first 4K quality experience in a clutter-free space without any connection cables except for the power cord.

Equipped with the Alpha 11 processor, LG has upgraded the “brain” of the TV. This results in a 70% improvement in graphics performance and a 30% increase in processing speed. The new AI upscaling feature autonomously enhances even blurry objects and backgrounds for clearer viewing.
