HHLA Italy receives important occupational health and safety certification

HHLA Italy, a subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG is the first terminal in Trieste to receive the UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification for its occupational health and safety management system. The certification underlines HHLA PLT Italy’s commitment to maintain the highest levels of safety and well-being for its employees
HHLA PLT Italy is operating a multi-purpose terminal in the Adriatic port of Trieste. Improving safety and preserving the health of both employees and external staff is considered a top priority, therefore, the successful audit for UNI ISO 45001:2018 was an important goal to achieve for the company.
Tommaso Piras, Health and Security Manager at HHLA PLT Italy: “We are very proud to receive this important certification. We believe in our health and safety management system because we think that people are a company’s greatest resource. In PLT the health and well-being of our colleagues is an absolute priority. In addition, the management system allows to refine its processes and clarify the tasks of stakeholders involved in a structured way, and to constantly minimize possible sources of errors.”
DNV is the certifying body and a leading company in this sector. UNI ISO 45001:2018 is an international recognized standard that specifies the requirements for implementing and maintaining an occupational health and safety management system. The purpose of the certification and of the safety management system is maintain and improve the level of prevention for any subject involved in the terminal activity.
