Hybrid format meeting

Reaffirming the Importance of Environmental Responsiveness and Sustainable Shippin

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines,  announced that it hosted a five- day liaison meeting on safe operation for shipowners and ship management companies from September 11-15. On the first day, a plenary session focused on MOL’s initiatives to comply with environmental regulations, and on the following four days, subcommittees shared information on special cargo handling, reviewed accidents and incidents, and discussed next-generation fuels for each ship type to deepen mutual understanding of safe and efficient operation and environmental measures.

SOSC tour

The hybrid-format plenary session combined an online broadcast with face-to-face meetings—the first in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic—as well as a tour of MOL’s Safety Operations Support Center (SOSC) (Note 1), the renovation of which was completed in April, 2023. More than 230 people from 87 companies (including 68 people from 43 companies attending in person) took part in the five-day event.

Through these activities, MOL continually strives to deliver “the world’s highest level of safety” and expansion its sustainable shipping business.
