Cyprus Shipping News is delighted to announce the speakers of the 1st CSN Greece Crewing Conference ”Maritime HR challenges in 2023″.
Antonios started his career in the shipping industry almost 20 years ago. Holder of both a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University, London, he also completed a Masters degree of Maritime Operations and Management from City University, London.
Since commencing his career in the maritime field and reaching his current position, he has fulfilled a number of roles, offering him a full and holistic understanding of safe, efficient and successful vessel management.
Antonios initially worked as a surveyor / loss adjuster for a Major underwriters’ house then moved to be a Technical Superintendent Engineer. Over the years he developed into being a Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer, responsible for all fleet safety and technical matters. When he assumed the role of Technical Manager, he proficiently supported fleet, crew and his office by creating strong shore and ship collaborations to achieve efficient and effective ship operations whilst evolving company’s procedures.
He now serves under the capacity of General Manager of Minerva Ship Management where, aside from providing the strategic direction and growth of the company, he actively oversees all elements of fleet management and performance, office operations as well as heading of commercial matters.
Antonios is a firm believer of the need for ongoing, dynamic and innovative progression in all fields of shipping industry, since this can be the only path towards the target of achieving constant improvement.
