A unique luxury class cruise sailship “Sea Cloud Spirit” will call the Port of Riga. A three-mast full-rigged ship (overall length – 138 meters, beam – 17 meters) is currently considered to be one of the world’s largest sailships. The luxury vessel features five decks and 69 premium class passenger cabins and can carry 136 passengers and 85 crew members.

“Sea Cloud Spirit” is one of the three vessels of German cruise operator “Sea Cloud Cruises”, that provides its clients with exclusive and personalized traveling experience by combining traditional sailing with cruise ship benefits and comfort.

“Sea Cloud Spirit” was commissioned in 2021, and her construction cost 100 million dollars. The sailing ship boasts an exclusive wellness and SPA area, a fitness room with a sea view, a pool, a library, several restaurants and bars. “Sea Cloud Spirit” is the first sailing ship in the world, which is equipped with a passenger elevator.

A sailing vessel has four Zodiacs (speedboats for coastal cruising and landings) offering cruise passengers an opportunity to research water area and reach the coast, as well as enjoy different aquatic sports and recreation activities.

“Sea Cloud Spirit” will arrive at Riga as part of a 12-day Baltic Sea cruise that started on July 7 in the port of Kiel, Germany. This will be the cruise ship’s first visit to the Port of Riga.

Following the tradition of welcoming the ship’s Master and crew upon their arrival at Riga, on Saturday, July 15, at 11:30 a.m. local time, a ceremony of the port’s and the vessel’s Coats of arms exchange ceremony will take place on board the sailship.

A total of 29 cruise ships have already called the Port of Riga this season, and 41,694 passengers from more than 112 countries of the world, mostly from Germany, the USA, the United Kingdom, as well as Canada, have visited Riga.

This season, a total of 63 cruise ship calls have been scheduled in the Port of Riga. 21 ships of the different cruise lines will visit Riga, among them a cruise ship line that has not visited Riga – the “Ambassador Cruise Line” from the UK. Six ships will call Riga for the first time. During the season, 11 overnight visits have been scheduled. The maximum capacity of all scheduled ships is more than 90 thousand passengers. According to the current schedule, the last of the season cruise ship calls are planned for the end of September.
