In a UK first, a shipment of green fertiliser arrived in Southampton this week. The fertiliser, part of Grupo Fertiberia’s Impact Zero product line, which utilises renewable energy in its manufacturing, was imported by Bartholomews Agri Food, a trusted advisor to farmers and distributor of high-quality and sustainable products to customers across the UK.

ABP is working closely with our partners across the Port, including Solent Stevedores, to ensure this market-leading shipment reaches its customers quickly, efficiently and in top condition. Solent Stevedores operate the dry bulk terminal at the Port and unloaded the fertiliser for Bartholomews Agri Food.

Like all sectors of the economy, agriculture is transitioning to a much lower emissions and more sustainable future. Zero emissions solutions for the nutrient needs of farming will form a key part of this future whilst maintaining the high levels of productivity and quality that we all rely on.

ABP is committed to a net zero future and launched our Sustainability Strategy – Ready for Tomorrow – earlier this year, which includes our pathway to reducing our carbon footprint and reaching our net zero emissions by 2040 at the latest. A significant part of our Sustainability Strategy is working with our customers and supply chains to play our key role in their net zero journeys. Our partnership with Bartholomews Agri Food and Solent Stevedores is a great example of this.
