Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 6th that it was the first in the industry to successfully verify ship autonomous navigation technology in the section connecting Korea to the South China Sea.

Samsung Heavy Industries installed its own remote autonomous navigation system (SAS) and smart ship system (SVESSEL) on a 15,000 TEU class large container ship built at the Geoje shipyard from June 26 to July 1 and departed from Geoje and passed Jeju Island to Taiwan. Demonstration of autonomous navigation technology by operating about 1,500km to Kaohsiung Port.
