Official meeting of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber with President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides


Within the framework of the recent assumption of duties of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber’s new Board of Directors, a courtesy meeting was held with the President of Cyprus Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, on 6 July 2023, at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.

During the meeting, the Shipping Chamber presented the current policy issues of the Cyprus Shipping Industry, as well as the industry’s suggestions in relation to certain challenges it faces.

During the constructive discussion that followed, it was also stressed that while Shipping continues to be a strong performer for the Cyprus economy, the close and continuous cooperation and consultation between the Chamber and the Cyprus Maritime Administration are key to maintain and further improve its prospects and tangible contribution to Cyprus economy and society.

Mr. Christodoulides stressed in return the importance that the Government places on Shipping and on the Chamber’s work and stated that they will offer their complete support on all matters discussed, in order to safeguard this flagship sector’s sustainable future.
