VARD is proud to present the CSOV  Norwind Gale to Norwind Offshore. The vessel was named in Aalesund, 12 June. The naming ceremony took place in the center of Ålesund in front of VARD’s headquarters.

This is the first of four newbuild CSOV’s VARD is delivering to Norwind Offshore. Norwind Offshore is a relative newly established ship owning company that will offer specialized vessels designed for advanced maritime operations in the development and service of the offshore wind sector.

The CSOVs are tailor-made for world-wide services, support, and maintenance operations at offshore wind farms. The VARD 4 19 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, is a highly versatile platform for all offshore windfarm support operations, focusing on onboard logistics, security, comfort, and superior operability. The vessel is equipped to provide services during both construction, operation, and maintenance of offshore windfarms.

– We are delighted to finally again take delivery of a newbuild from Vard.

The first one in Norwind Offshore’s history, but in good company with 70 other offshore vessels that we previously have taken delivery from Vard. This marks an important milestone to us, and we are really looking forward to putting this high-tech purpose- built CSOV into to operation.

The 85-metre vessel has a beam of 19.5 meters and is equipped with a height-adjustable and 3D motion-compensated gangway with elevator system, a height-adjustable boat landing system, and is prepared for battery solutions. The CSOV have accommodation for 87 persons on board, with possibility to increase to 120 persons.

The hull of Norwind Gale was built at Vard Braila in Romania and outfitted and finalized at Vard Brattvaag in Norway.
