• In this decade, more than 20 tonnes of food and 62,500 units of school material have been delivered
• The celebration of the 10th Anniversary brought together in the Clock Building of the Port of Valencia, a hundred representatives of the port community and groups of the Maritime District
• The compilation book was presented, which compiles the trajectory and actions of Aportem over the last decade 

 The Clock Building of the Port of Valencia hosted the 10th Anniversary of Aportem-Puerto Solidario de València. At the event, which brought together members and beneficiaries of the association, an assessment of the ten years was made and the commemorative book was presented, which contains a balance of the activity of Aportem during this decade.

The event brought together a hundred people, including institutions and companies from the Valencian port logistics sector, and beneficiaries of Aportem’s work, such as educational centres and groups from the Poblados Marítimos de València. The event served to review how much Aportem has done in its first 10 years of life, and to highlight new initiatives that favour the most vulnerable people in the Maritime District.

Among those present were Joan Calabuig, Aurelio Martínez and Rafael Aznar, three presidents of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) who have contributed to the development and consolidation of the project carried out by Aportem.

At the event, the journalist Loli Dolz, presented the compilation book, edited by Aportem and coordinated by her, in which the trajectory and actions of the CSR association over the years are collected. Among the most outstanding figures are the 20 tonnes of food delivered in the area around the Port of Valencia from 2013 to date, as well as the 62,500 units of school material, the 18,800 items of clothing and the 5,500 units of sports equipment.

During the presentation of the Association, Pilar Blaya, secretary of Aportem, thanked the attendees for having achieved together “that today Aportem is concrete people, carrying out concrete actions with concrete associations”.

Along these lines, Francisco Prado, president of Aportem, acknowledged the contribution not only of the members, but also of the ‘friends’ of Aportem, and the institutions that have benefited from the work carried out over the last 10 years. “They do something as valuable as detecting, testing and selecting the needs of the environment, to tell us who needs what. With this we can continue trying to change the world, but always from the action focused on proximity to our environment”. Prado highlighted, in the section on future plans, the intention to continue working to do more and more for people at risk of social exclusion in the Maritime District, and to continue working “on something that is just as important, or even more important: to draw up a map of CSR associations and institutions that work in our immediate area, in order to coordinate better and thus achieve more results”.

Aportem – Puerto Solidario Valencia is an association declared of public utility, totally private, made up of associations, institutions, companies and individuals linked to the port sector and the Maritime District of Valencia. Its action is focused above all on the environment of the Port of Valencia, with special attention to the care of the environment and children at risk of social exclusion.
