Harris Papaspyropoulos is a Claims Director at NorthStandard P&I Club. He works for club’s office in Athens, Greece.
Harris specialises in cargo cases, but his experience covers all aspects of shipping accidents like salvage & towage, collisions, and damages to fixed & floating objects. Regularly involved in disputes which may arise out of charterparties, bills of lading, general average, limitation of liability and MOAs.
Prior joining Standard Club in May 2017, Harris spent 6 years working as Senior Claim Executive for another IG Club dealing with P&I and FDD matters for members in Greece, Turkey and Middle East. Harris started this journey in the fascinating world of shipping working for TMS Group for more than 4 years in company’s insurance & claims department. He studied Business Law at the London Metropolitan University and then acquired a LLM in Commercial Law from University of Sussex and a MSc in Transport and Maritime Management from University of Antwerp. He is winner of a scholarship from the Ministry of Flanders in Belgium. After graduation from Antwerp University he worked for Chiquita Brands International.
