ChartWorld enables CII Calculation and Prediction in latest release of MyFleet

ChartWorld, a leading provider of digital navigation and voyage planning solutions, has announced the new extension of their popular MyFleet vessel management tool; it enables users to calculate and predict Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) and other performance parameters for upcoming voyages. MyFleet 1.15 provides users with a powerful new tool to choose the most fuel-efficient route, reduce their operational carbon footprint, and easily record and report on this data.

The Voyage Order calculation is based on a single voyage segment or two – in the case of the Laycan voyage leg from the last tracked vessel position to the port of loading, and then for the Laden voyage leg to the port of destination. An approved Voyage Order is delivered to the onboard MyRA Ship Voyage Planning tool, with immediate notification to the vessel or the captain’s e-mail address.

The Vessel Performance Model (VPM) is used for the predicted CII and voyage performance calculations. This model consists of different parameters, like speed, fuel consumption, draft, or Engine RPM. It is normally known as a vessel’s ‘speed curve’. Fleet managers may use a generic one, created in the database, or a customized model with the fine-tuned speed curve for a certain vessel in their fleet.

MyFleet 1.15 also includes Weather Routing, which enables the Voyage Order route to be created and calculated using different options such as fixed speed, fixed RPM, and fixed engine load. Additionally, users can specify weather limits for improved routing optimization.

“We are thrilled to announce the release of MyFleet 1.15, which incorporates new features to manage the CII rating of each vessel. The new extension of the Voyage Order features with Weather Routing, Vessel Performance and CII Predictions enable bridge and onshore teams to make better decisions and improve the efficiency of their operations,” said Oliver Schwarz, Business Development Director of ChartWorld.

The software also comes with a ‘No Vessel Performance Calculation’ option; it calculates the quickest Voyage Order route by using the ChartWorld Route Network without Vessel Performance data. This mode delivers quick results, including the route, schedule based on the Planned Time of Departure (PTD), and planned speed specified on the Schedule page of the Voyage Order wizard.

MyFleet is a cloud-based solution that provides real-time fleet management and voyage planning for commercial shipping and cruise operators. The software integrates with ECDIS systems, allowing users to access and share information in real-time. ChartWorld’s digital solutions are used by some of the world’s leading shipping companies and cruise operators, to improve safety, compliance, efficiency, and emissions reporting.
