Fugro to showcase expertise in renewable energy at Windeurope 2023

April 21, 2023

Fugro is back at WindEurope’s annual event, a global conference and exhibition focused on supporting the development of wind power in Europe

Held in Copenhagen from 25-27 April, Fugro will shine a spotlight on its cutting-edge remote and autonomous solutions that not only reduce carbon emissions, but enable safer, more efficient offshore operations.

Visitors to hall C3, stand B6 will have the opportunity to learn about Fugro’s comprehensive suite of services and innovations that support developments through every stage of operation, from initial surveying right through to decommissioning.

With a commitment to be carbon neutral by 2035, Fugro will highlight its fleet developments, real-time data delivery portals, and remote and autonomous solutions. One of the featured innovations is Fugro’s Blue Essence®, an uncrewed surface vessel (USV) that has the capacity to reduce fuel consumption by as much as 95 % compared to conventional survey vessels. Blue Essence® USVs are operated remotely from Fugro’s global network of remote operation centres (ROC) delivering faster and more sustainable inspection of offshore assets, construction support and geophysical surveys.

Additional innovations on display at the stand, include:

  • SEACALF® MkV Deep Drive®: an advanced seabed cone penetration test (CPT) system with enhanced soil penetration capacity
  • SEAWATCH® Wind Lidar Buoy: an integrated, real-time marine monitoring and information system.
  • VBM®: a vertical boring machine that simplifies the construction phase of wind turbines, improving safety while reducing overall project time and costs.

Fugro’s experts will also be presenting posters on key offshore wind topics, including floating lidar systems, digitalisation of laboratory services and driving down the levelised cost of energy for offshore projects.

Erik-Jan Bijvank, Fugro’s Group Director Europe and Africa said: “As the demand for renewable energy continues to grow, Fugro remains committed to supporting the transition to a more sustainable future. By participating in events like WindEurope, we aim to engage with industry leaders, share insights, and contribute to the advancement of the renewable energy sector.”
