IAPH announced that IKEA Supply Chain Operations is the first major cargo owner to join IAPH as Associate Member. IKEA Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the supply of IKEA home-furnishing products by procuring, developing and operating all transport and logistics capacities in the IKEA supply chain across land and ocean. One of the key objectives of the Ports function at IKEA Supply Chain Operations is to work closely together with port stakeholders to get a better understanding of total transport flows end-to-end, in which port operations play a significant role. It’s about utilising existing know-how to identify opportunities for future development and to influence positive sustainability movements.
