Joint visit of the Minister of Transport, Shipping Deputy Minister, Deputy Minister of Tourism to the Port of Limassol

Minister of Transport, Communications and Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, the Shipping Deputy Minister, Marina Hadjimanolis and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis

A joint meeting was held on 23rd March, at the Port of Limassol, between the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafeadis, the Shipping Deputy Minister, Ms. Marina Hadjimanolis and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Kostas Koumis.

During their visit, the Ministers met with executives of the companies DP World Limassol Ltd (General Trade and Passenger Terminal), Eurogate (Container Terminal), P&O Limassol Ltd as well as the Cyprus Ports Authority and had the opportunity to exchange views on matters concerning their Ministries

At the end of the visit, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafeadis stated that “this was an opportunity, for us to visit the port of Limassol and to be able to discuss with parties of the concession agreement, how we can manage better the opportunities presented to our country.

The Shipping Deputy Minister, Ms. Marina Hadjimanolis stated that “the purpose of our visit is to identify problems and provide solutions. All three of us are open to suggestions to upgrade above all the quality of services offered to the public. It is very important to be aware of any problems in advance, in order to take preemptive measures.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Costas Koumis, stated that “the presence of all three Ministers today at the port of Limassol, also shows the intention of the Government to draw up horizontal policies. We are still in the first days of the government of Nikos Christodoulides. We have taken over some plans, we are working on new plans and some final decisions are expected soon.
