Huawei introduces new technologies and solutions for 5.5G Era at MWC

Huawei announced on Mar. 2 that it announced technologies and solutions to lead the 5.5G era and shared business opportunities for mobile carriers at MWC 2023.

First, Huawei cited 10Gbit/s experiences, the all-scenario internet of things (IoT), integrated sensing and communications, L4 self-driving networks and eco-friendly ICT technology as the key features of the 5.5G era. The Chinese tech giant expected mobile carriers’ network performances to improve 10 times compared to 5G based on technological innovation.

Mobile carriers will be able to expand new business areas and create business opportunities that are 100 times greater through the explosive growth of immersive interactive experience services, the promotion of the digitalization of industry through expanding performances and the deployment of 5G private networks, the creation of network connectivity opportunities through cloud applications, 100 billion connections through the use of cellular network-based IoT applications and the passive IoT and the promotion of new services for various scenarios through integrated sensing and communication, Huawei added.

“The advent of the 5.5G era has set up new services, scenarios and new requirements for networks,” said Richard Liu, president of cloud core network product line at Huawei. Liu announced new solutions that help companies integrate, accelerate service innovation, build competitive advantages and ultimately achieve business success.

Meanwhile, Huawei also introduced a new solution that supports the establishment of an end-to-end eco-friendly all-optical network for mobile carriers to develop high-quality services and promotes smooth progress to F5.5G networks.
