Anschütz and StormGeo partner on electronic logbooks

The new partnership of Anschütz and StormGeo, a leading provider of weather intelligence and decision-support solutions for the shipping industry and part of Alfa Laval, paves the way to completely paperless ship governance.
eLog provides elementary evidence of all command and ship crew activity in a secure digital format. Combining the Anschütz eLog electronic logbook with the data exchange services and decision-support solutions from StormGeo’s s-Suite product portfolio can now create an entire maritime data chain that delivers consistent, approved information that from the ship to shore-based stakeholders.
Ship operators, managers, and owners benefit from compliance and transparency, but also from reduced administrative workload and more efficient decision-making. “Electronic logbooks are of great importance for paperless vessel’s operation,” says Volker Wenzel, technical marketing manager at Anschütz. “eLog enables the transition from error-prone and manual data collection and transfer to a single-sourced digital process chain for maritime data.”
eLog records all critical ship operation issues, including navigational, machinery and safety-related information. It complies with the ISO standard 21745:2019 and features automatic and manual data entry capabilities, which are digitally signed and securely stored using blockchain technology. With eLog, authorized users can access, analyze, export or reuse logbook data from anywhere in the world.
