The Port of Long Beach is requesting the public’s input on a proposed project by World Oil Terminals to install two additional oil storage tanks at its Pier C facility.
No new pipelines, truck loading racks, or other facility modifications are part of the proposal, nor would the designs enable increased throughput.
Comments gathered will be used to inform an environmental impact report on the plan. The Notice of Preparation for the EIR is at www.polb.com/ceqa.
Two scoping meetings for the report will also be held in February, one virtual and another in person.

World Oil Terminals proposes to construct and operate two new 25,000-barrel petroleum storage tanks holding crude oil, with internal floating roofs with new tank foundations and piping connections to existing facility infrastructure, including the truck loading racks. The facility’s existing tanks would be made available to lease by third-party customers to store marine fuel and marine fuel blending components.
