Spire Global announces Maritime Leadership changes to support growth

Spire Global, a leading global provider of space-based data, analytics and space services, announced leadership changes within the Spire Maritime business.

John Lusk has been appointed as CEO of Spire Maritime. Mr. Lusk joined the Company in 2018 and has held various leadership roles, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer of Spire Maritime. Mr. Lusk has more than 25 years of experience in driving go-to-market strategy, scaling high-growth products, business development, and operations. Prior to his role as COO, Mr. Lusk led Spire’s global data services group and oversaw the growth and innovation of the Company’s maritime, aviation and weather data solutions.

Peter Mabson, who previously served as CEO of Spire Maritime following the acquisition of exactEarth in November 2021, has been named CSO of Spire Maritime. Mr. Mabson will focus on the execution of long-term strategy for the business, including product innovation and development as well as fostering strategic partnerships. Prior to joining Spire, he was President and CEO of exactEarth for more than 13 years and has more than 30 years of experience in the space sector.

Spire Maritime offers global maritime vessel tracking data, insights and predictive analytics used for highly accurate ship and supply chain monitoring, ship safety and route optimization. It recently launched new solutions to improve maritime operations, efficiency and safety, including Vessel To Port ETA, Port Events and Dark Shipping Detection.
