TGE Marine awarded the contract to design and supply the cargo handling- and fuel gas system for a 12,000 m³ LNG bunker vessel

TGE Marine has been awarded the contract to design and supply the cargo handling- and fuel gas system for a 12,000 m³ LNG bunker vessel by the Chinese shipyard “Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd.”. The vessel will be owned and operated by Peking-based “China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC)”.

The bunker vessel will supply its cargo to any LNG fuelled vessel in Chinese waters and it will be equipped with two IMO type C cylindrical tanks with a design pressure of 4.5 bar g. An LNG sub-cooling system will also be fitted in order to condition the cargo to -163 °C. Furthermore the vessel will be equipped with a cold recovery system to utilize the low temperature of the cargo for the ship’s air conditioning system, thereby reducing the overall power consumption.

CNOOC’s and TGE Marine’s successful collaboration started in 2015 when the latter designed and supplied the cargo handling- and fuel gas system for another CNOOC vessel, the 30,000 m³ LNG carrier “Hai Yang Shi You 301”, the world’s largest LNG carrier with IMO type C tanks at that time.

TGE Marine’s Sales Manager Johannes Dziuba adds: ‘This vessel will be a milestone for the Chinese LNG bunkering market and we are proud to be able to jointly develop this innovative vessel. It is a pleasure for TGE Marine to partner up with both the yard and the owner for this unique project and we look forward to support all parties throughout the building process and operations.’
