Capt. Eberhard Koch resigns from Board of Governors of the Cyprus Maritime Academy and from its position as Chairman

Message from Capt. Eberhard Koch regarding his resignation from Board of Governors of the Cyprus Maritime Academy and from its position as Chairman

Dear Esteemed Board Colleagues,

I address to you this email of resignation from the Board of Governors of the Cyprus Maritime Academy and from its position as Chairman, with immediate effect.

I had the great honour and pleasure to be at the helm for almost 6,5 years. Cooperating with you over so many years of the Academy’s existence has been a very rewarding and enriching experience, and  I truly appreciated your very valuable support over the past years.

We did face sometimes “stormy weather conditions”  like the issue with the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education or financial obstacles, but we have managed to keep our course in the true spirit of cooperation, navigating with the best intentions.

I truthfully cherished  the remarkable,  personal support from the previous Minister of Transport, Mr.  Marios Demetriades, the two Deputy Shipping Ministers, Mrs. Natasa Pilides and Mr. Vassilios

Demetriades and the Permanent Secretaries. I have always received the time, open-minded approach, and insightful thoughts.

The Cyprus Maritime Academy became an extraordinary success and I am both proud and honoured to have been part of this incredible achievement.

Young people in Cyprus have accepted our idea, embraced the mission of the Academy,  and realized what the Shipping Industry has to offer.

Now,  I strongly believe it’s time to change the Pilot for the continued voyage over the next years.

I wish you all great, further success and calm seas.

Remaining with kind regards

Capt. Eberhard Koch
