Vos Prodect is proud to announce that the offshore wind farms Vesterhav Nord and Syd will be installed using the Cable Hang-Off systems of Vos Prodect. Vos Prodect has been contracted by Hellenic Cables, a supplier of the inter-array cables and associated accessories, to supply the sealed Hang-Off Systems for these two nearshore wind projects.

The Vesterhav Nord and Syd wind farms of  Vattenfall are located in the Danish waters of the North Sea. Together, both wind farms will have a power generation capacity of 344MW, meeting the energy requirements of 380,000 households in Denmark. After the delivery of the sealed Hang-Off Systems, the offshore wind farm is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2023.

Vos Prodect will perform an extensive test program at the bespoke testing facility using the 66kV cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated inter-array cables, produced by Hellenic Cables. Thanks to our on-site test facility, we are able to perform various sealing and loading tests in a controlled and regulated environment.

These tests are conducted in order to verify and confirm that our temporary clamp locks the cables in a “reliable and safe” manner, without damaging the cable. The tailored test program is aligned with client expectations, to ensure that the design requirements of Vesterhav Nord and Syd are met by the products we specify and supply.

Over the past few years, Vos Prodect has been working closely with the cable manufacturer Hellenic Cables on high- and medium-voltage cabling projects, resulting in a successful and strong partnership. After the successful complete delivery of the world’s largest offshore wind farm Dogger Bank, we are looking forward to the realization and supply of the offshore wind farms Vesterhav Nord and Syd and the continued collaboration with Hellenic Cables.
