UK Chamber of Shipping reacts to new Transport Secretary
Following the appointment of Anne Marie Trevelyan as Secretary of State for Transport UK Chamber of Shipping CEO Sarah Treseder said:
“I warmly congratulate Anne Marie Trevelyan on her appointment as Secretary of State for Transport. Her significant cross-government experience will be invaluable in driving the policy alignment needed to maximise shipping’s contribution to the UK economy.
Equally important will be the new Secretary of State’s support in meeting our ambitious decarbonisation commitments. Her international experience as International Trade Secretary given the vital part the International Maritime Organisation’s adoption of net zero by 2050 represents will be crucial.
We at the UK Chamber of Shipping, alongside colleagues from across the wider Maritime sector, look forward to working closely with Ms Trevelyan and her ministerial team.”
