Ultranav’s Cape Tankers opts BOSS Optimisation Suite for fleet optimisation and decarbonisation

Cape Tankers, an Ultranav group company, and Indian maritime technology company, BlueWater Trade Winds, announced the official signing of their contract to implement BlueWater’s “BOSS Voyage Optimisation Suite” for their Panamax and Aframax fleet.
The BOSS Suite will serve as a catalyst to Cape Tankers’ decarbonisation strategy, which includes energy efficiency, intelligent voyage optimization, efficient fleet management, weather routing, and vessel performance analysis.
Capt. Ruben Araos, General Manager Operations, said: “Choosing BOSS Suite for our fleet was a natural choice since during the trials, we observed a positive influence of BOSS modus operandi on our voyage operations. The level of customization and development of advance vessel monitoring tools in BOSS has been impressive. Further, the system is loaded with features such as vessel performance analytics and CII ratings, which helped us know the why and how of our fleet’s efficiency.”
Adding to the announcement, Capt. Kumaresh Gupta, Managing Director at BlueWater, said: “We are delighted to have Cape Tankers fleet in BOSS. The BOSS team has readily developed certain customized solutions for operational excellence and performance analysis to suit Cape Tankers’ requirements. With BOSS our aim has always been to develop technologies to streamline voyages and build a digital ecosystem for commercial shipping where all vessels are technologically smart, safer, and energy efficient.”
