Tactical Wireless joins Inmarsat’s ELEVATE programme

Elevate membership will support bespoke communications providers’ global growth across range of key industries, including security, rail, agriculture

Tactical Wireless Ltd. today announced it has joined Inmarsat’s ELEVATE, a development programme, ecosystem and marketplace for providers of software, hardware and solutions, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in commercial land markets. As a member of the ELEVATE programme, Tactical Wireless will provide customers with even more reliable, personalised communications solutions based on their individual bandwidth requirements and location.

Access to ELERA, the leading global L-band satellite connectivity network from Inmarsat will enhance Tactical Wireless’ ability to meet customers’ niche and vital needs, whatever and wherever they may be.

Tactical Wireless is a UK-based company which has specialised in integrating innovative solutions for hybrid communications in remote or poorly connected areas since it developed its universal sensor and communications hub, Omni-Hub®, in 2013. The company offers bespoke communications technologies and services across a variety of industries.

Tactical Wireless’ solutions deliver tangible results for customers including: acute healthcare, such as streaming of foetal and paediatric cardiac ultrasound images from remote locations, improving clinical outcomes within the NHS; supporting telemedicine for chronically ill patients; providing key capability to specialist police units; and providing resilient communications for remote track and roadside workers. These are just some of the examples of what Tactical Wireless enables in the UK.

Mike Carter, President of Enterprise at Inmarsat, said “We are looking forward to deepening our relationship with Tactical Wireless and to be working with them to support their ambitious growth plans. We believe our partnership will help this exciting business at the forefront of specialist communications solutions to meet mission critical needs for new and existing clients across a range of industries with an even more personalised, reliable service.

“Inmarsat is pleased that innovative solution providers like Tactical Wireless are using leading-edge technology to help industries respond to some of the biggest global challenges and is excited to facilitate broader opportunities for collaboration across the wider ELEVATE network. Inmarsat stands ready to support their journey through the provision of reliable connectivity via our industry-leading ELERA narrowband network, as well as go-to-market alignment and support.”

The partnership will also prove valuable as the business looks to expand its offering across a number of industries, including agriculture and aquaculture. As part of the programme, Tactical Wireless will gain access to Inmarsat’s broader partner network, creating opportunities to collaborate on additional niche communications solutions for customers.

Companies in locations without reliable connectivity or those which have mission-critical connectivity needs, use the Inmarsat ELEVATE programme to access a broad choice of satellite-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) solutions developed by a range of providers to enhance the efficiency, safety and sustainability of their businesses.

Peter Morton, Chairman and CEO of Tactical Wireless, added “The benefits of incorporating satellite connectivity with remote communications solutions are abundantly clear, particularly across industries such as transportation and security, where reliable communications can be a matter of life or death.

“By joining Inmarsat’s ELEVATE programme and deepening our longstanding relationship, we expect to enhance further our one-stop-shop communications solutions for customers as we leverage its industry-leading ELERA network. We are also excited to explore future opportunities for collaboration with the broader ELEVATE partnership ecosystem as we continue to bring cutting-edge services to market.”

Inmarsat’s ELEVATE programme is open to new entrants, disruptors, and established brands of any size who have developed an innovative digital product or service, but may need additional support to exploit the benefits of satellite-enabled IoT solutions. Inmarsat provides dedicated technical guidance on how to integrate and support its highly-reliable satellite services, go-to-market strategy planning and exposure to the Inmarsat distribution channel to enable access to new markets.

Providers working across a diverse range of industries, including agriculture, aid and NGOs, energy, exploration and leisure, media, mining, transport and utilities, as well as agnostic technology providers, will be considered for membership.
