NYK continues cleanup of Hachinohe coast

Cleanup in progress

From July 4 to 9, NYK sent three dispatches of totaling 34 employees to conduct a coastal cleanup around the Ichikawa fishing port of Hachinohe in Aomori prefecture.

In August 2021, Crimson Polaris, a dedicated wood-chip carrier that NYK had chartered from affiliate company of Doun Kisen Co. Ltd.(the Shipowner), grounded off the coast of this area, where removal of the ship’s hull continues by the Shipowner.

The dispatched employees conducted a coastal cleanup, all the while taking appropriate measures against infection to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
