New Managing Director takes the helm at Thriving Flexofold

Henning Uldall has been appointed as the new Managing Director at propeller specialist Flexofold

Leading propeller specialist Flexofold has appointed a new Managing Director to maintain the momentum achieved during a phase of momentous growth for the company in recent years.

After successfully guiding the Danish-based manufacturer to an historic high point, the current incumbent and 13-year Flexofold veteran Keld Willberg is departing to continue his career in a new management role outside the leisure marine business.

Effective on 1 August 2022, Keld hands the leading role over to Henning Uldall, a marine industry specialist with 20 years of experience in boatbuilding, sales and the aftersales market.

Flexofold’s significant expansion follows its acquisition by YANMAR in December 2017, a move which precipitated an increase in demand for its low-drag, shaft drive and sail drive folding propellers for sailboats and multihull yachts.

Keld has managed the company for over four and a half years ever since the YANMAR alliance after filling various positions since 2009, using his considerable knowledge to excel in the mission to take Flexofold forward.

On assuming responsibility for global business operations, Henning will start with an immediate focus on a search for larger headquarters and an addition to the sales team to accommodate projected business growth. He is well-placed for the task ahead, with a strong technical background and recent experience working for VETUS and X-Yachts in Sales Manager roles.

Marcel Borsboom, YANMAR Marine International Director General Onboard Systems, said: “We would like to thank Keld for his valuable contribution to Flexofold, particularly in overseeing significant growth following the YANMAR acquisition. He leaves the company in a robust state with an extremely positive outlook and poised for further expansion.

“I am confident Flexofold is in safe hands with Henning moving from sister company VETUS. With our propellers established as the best and most efficient on the market, he will focus on strengthening our leading position in the recreational marine industry. We are looking forward to exciting times ahead with a new sales appointment planned imminently and a move to a larger building in progress due to the company outgrowing the current premises.”

Marking 30 years in business, Flexofold is one of the most experienced and innovative manufacturers of folding propellers for sailboats, all designed and distributed from the company’s single-purpose factory in Denmark equipped with state-of-the-art CNC equipment and robot technology.

The range of 2-Blade, 3-Blade and 4-Blade propellers are supplied directly to yards and to private boat owners across the world, and are now used as part of the original equipment in an increasing number of boatyards including Beneteau, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Hanse, Dehler, Elan, Grand Soleil, Bavaria, Hallberg Rassy, Swan, Oyster, X-Yachts, Torqeedo and many more.
