‘Esvagt Delta’ is to sail tourists

After 21 years in the shipping company, ‘Esvagt Delta’ is replacing standby and ERRV tasks in the North Sea with whale watching and nature tourism in Norway.

‘Esvagt Delta’ retires after 21 years in the shipping company. The vessel has been sold to the Icelandic shipping company OBI Enf, which will use the vessel for whale watching and nature tourism in northern Norway.

‘Esvagt Delta’ was built in 1974 as a fishing vessel at the Ørskov shipyard in Frederikshavn. The vessel was bought as ‘Kapilssund’ in the Faroe Islands by ESVAGT in 1990 and rebuilt at Aabenraa Shipyard for ERRV and standby tasks.

‘Esvagt Delta’ has contributed to safety and support in the Danish part of the North Sea ever since; the last 18 years without a single absence injury.
