Associated British Ports (ABP) the UK’s leading ports group, has concluded a new, long-term agreement with East Coast Marine Aggregates (ECMA), comprising Eastern Concrete Ltd and SRC Aggregates. The Suffolk-based businesses will occupy circa two acres at the Port of Ipswich to import, wash and prepare marine-dredged aggregates for their respective concrete businesses.

Demand for concrete and aggregates continues to grow. By having a strategic base at the port, close to the product and the market, ECMA will be able keep their carbon footprint low whilst delivering to its primary customers in the East Anglican area.

Tom Baker, Managing Director at Eastern Concrete, said,

I am thrilled that this collaboration will mark Eastern Concrete’s 20th year in operation supporting key infrastructure development projects across the county and further afield.”

The product is shipped into the Port of Ipswich using the CEMEX Go Innovation.
