After a two-year break, Seaports presented the port of Niedersachsen on an innovative and modern stand

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the world’s largest trade fair for project cargo and break bulk took place in Rotterdam for the first time this year. From May 17th to 19th, the port marketing company Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH organized an innovative exhibition stand as a contact point for customers and partners of the handling companies from the seaports in Niedersachsen.

At the global industry meeting and the largest trade fair for general cargo, enthusiasm reached new heights: “The first two days of the fair were a complete success! The breakbulk offers the chance to get in touch with companies from all over the world. In personal conversations with numerous visitors, we were able to discuss developments and new trends in the handling of breakbulk and project cargo. That has been missing for the last two years!” says André Heim, Managing Director of Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH.

Seaports of Niedersachsen presented itself on a modern booth. Appointments with the desired company representative could be reserved in advance via the Seaports website. The on-site contact persons from the port locations were introduced via a digital information screen by a virtual business card. The highlight was the touchscreen, on which visitors could navigate through the respective ports by means of a remarkable 360° tour. Numerous visitors took the opportunity to exchange ideas with Seaports of Niedersachsen and the representatives from the port locations Brake, Cuxhaven, Emden and Wilhelmshaven.

The three-day event, held in Rotterdam for the first time this year, attracted well over 10,000 professionals from over 120 countries. It is considered a marketplace for port companies, shipping companies and logisticians who focus on the transport, handling and storage of breakbulk and project cargo. The dialogue between handling companies and customers is important in order to be able to develop the port services precisely for the often complex logistical tasks in the breakbulk area.

The seaports in Niedersachsen are regarded as specialists in the handling and storage of breakbulk cargo, e.g. iron, steel and paper products as well as wind energy components and project cargo with high unit weights or oversize. The handling of general cargo accounts for more than a quarter of the seaward handling of the port of Niedersachsen.
