The winners from the Valencian Community of this European student competition have visited the facilities of the Valencian enclosure

They toured the southern dock and the northern extension of the Port of Valencia

This initiative has been launched by CEEI Valencia in collaboration with the Direcció General de Formació Professional i Ensenyaments de Règim Especial de la Conselleria de Educació, Cultura i Esport

 The Port of Valencia has hosted the awards ceremony of the international competition focused on marine renewable energies Blue Deal for the Future, a project framed within the Interreg initiative of the European Union that aims to raise awareness and actively involve students in the construction of a blue future, expanding their knowledge related to this energy.

Specifically, the students are part of the regional phase in the Comunitat Valenciana that has chosen the 3 finalists in each category: design, artistic expression and video. A total of 32 proposals were received in the three available options, from which 9 were selected and presented their proposals in the auditorium of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV).

During the event, the head of Ecological Transition, Federico Torres, presented the characteristics of the fourth European port and the first in Spain in terms of goods traffic. In particular, the head of Valenciaport explained the environmental projects being carried out by the PAV which will enable the Valencian precinct to be an emission neutral port by 2030. Green hydrogen, photovoltaic plants, wind power installations or the use of fuels such as liquefied natural gas are some of the initiatives being carried out by Valenciaport.

The group of finalist students, made up of 50 people, toured the facilities of the Port of Valencia where, in addition to touring the southern counterdike, they visited the northern extension to learn about the characteristics of the new northern terminal, an infrastructure that will be an example of sustainability and respectful of the environment.

This initiative has been launched by the European Business and Innovation Centre of Valencia (CEEI), as a partner of the European project BLUE DEAL in collaboration with the Directorate General of Vocational Training and Special Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of the Generalitat Valenciana. The winning teams in each category will have the opportunity to travel to Ravenna (Italy) to defend their projects in the international phase. The CEEI is a European initiative developed by the Generalitat Valenciana, through the Instituto Valenciano de Competitividad Empresarial (IVACE).
