Jotron announces the release of a new series of EPIRBs

Jotron is the world’s first manufacturer to release three fully COSPAS-SARSAT approved AIS EPIRBs according to new SOLAS regulation.

From July 1st 2022, the IMO and SOLAS requirements MSC.471(101) will become mandatory. This new performance standard for float-free EPIRBs operating on 406 MHz, enables improved functionality that will offer quicker SAR response and ability to locate the vessel and crew in distress.

Jotron is the world’s first manufacturer to develop and release a series of AIS EPIRBs that meet the new requirements mandatory from July 2022. These COSPAS-SARSAT approved EPIRBs include AIS functionality for enhanced maritime safety. Jotron’s new EPIRB series also include RLS functionality, transmitting a signal back to the beacon to confirm receipt of the distress signal.
