With a view to 2024, all stakeholders in the European Blue Generation Initiative are committed to informing 39,000 young people about employment prospects in the fast-growing sector of the Blue Economy and in this context they organize career days, study visits, mentoring programs, as well as transnational mobility exchanges to gain first-hand experience in coastal tourism, aquaculture, ocean energy, marine biotechnology, shipbuilding, maritime transport and fisheries.

The Blue Generation Project is implemented by an international consortium in Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, Portugal, and Spain with support from Blue Economy Experts from Belgium, Germany, Iceland and Norway and it is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment.

The project has already developed and offered a free detailed Blue Career Guide, an attractive and informative tool that provides information on training opportunities and employment status at national and European level, as well as a Blue Career Job Platform with training and employment opportunities across Europe.

This year HELMEPA celebrates 40 years of multidimensional activity and collective offer by continuing to support young people with environmental education and information programs, scholarships for postgraduate studies and other initiatives aimed at empowering the young generation.
