Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister Vassilis Demetriades signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of maritime transport with UAE


The mission in Dubai was crowned with success says Shipping Deputy Minister Vassilis Demetriades. The Cypriot shipping was promoted and through contacts with shipping companies the foundations were laid for the registration of ships in the Cyprus Flag Register, for the attraction of shipping companies in Cyprus and for the exploitation of the prospects for the development of the blue economy.

Furthermore a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Emirati counterpart on maritime transport and integrated maritime policy and prospects of further cooperation with DP World were discussed in a meeting held together with the Cyprus Minister of Transport Yiannis Karousos at the premises of the Organisation. Also the new development model of Cyprus was presented within the framework of Expo2020 Dubai.
