Data analytics specialist ioCurrents has appointed Vin Marine Services to help promote its services to ship operators servicing the Indian seafaring sector.

ioCurrents is an innovator in maritime data analytics using machine-learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize fuel, reduce emissions, predict failures, and improve maintenance plans by aggregating and analysing data gathered from onboard sensors. The company then presents this live data in dashboards and proactively emails mission critical alerts, which enables ship operators, both shore side and onboard, to make real time decisions regarding maintenance, enforcing SOPs, and have higher accuracy and understanding on KPIs,  all based on fact rather than gut instinct.

“ioCurrents is thrilled to work with Vin Marine Services as the company represents some well-known principals in India and Singapore supporting ship owners, managers and shipyards with regards to equipment and services relating to safety, repairs and maintenance.  This customer base exactly fits ioCurrents’ target markets where we can help these maritime businesses reduce time spent on manual tracking and reporting, build better maintenance plans, and optimise fuel consumption,” said Jon Best, Director of Business Development for ioCurrents.

ioCurrents was founded in 2015 by IoT and sensor data experts Cosmo King and Bhaskar Bhattacharyya, who set themselves the task of developing a platform with applications that could gather and analyse large amounts of data from vessels. With their collective extensive experience in automation, data compression, cloud computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and their passion for maritime, King and Bhattacharyya developed a proprietary artificially intelligent platform called MarineInsight™.

Vin Marine Services was established in 2014 by Prakash Bhakta who has more than 30 years’ experience in the maritime industry. Based in Mumbai, the company is a trusted partner to ship owners, ship managers and shipyards supporting them with a variety of quality maritime products and services via their internationally renowned principals.

“We’re really excited to be representing ioCurrents in India and Singapore and are amazed at how a data-driven approach can transform decision making on a vessel to provide instant results which not only optimises a ship’s operations but saves time and money. Every quality ship operator in India and Singapore should get in touch with us to arrange a demonstration with the team at ioCurrents to learn how they can achieve immediate benefits in how they operate their business,” said Vin Marines Services’ owner Prakash Bhakta.
