Motorola wins US Navy contract to sustain LMR system

January 14, 2022

Motorola Solutions has been awarded a $29m critical communications contract option by the US Department of Defense.

Under the firm-fixed-price modification to contract awarded to Motorola Solutions on 16 December 2019, the company will continue to sustain the US Navy’s land mobile radio (LMR) system.

The contract has been signed with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) Ashore Program.

The exercise of option year two is the third year of a multi-year agreement signed for essential communications.

It supports continued critical radio communications to coordinate deployments and response actions at the US Navy’s facilities around the world.

The LMR network also allows secure collaboration between the service’s emergency services and other state, federal, and local organisations involved in public safety.
