DFDS’s new built Aura Seaways Ropax departed from China

Aura Seaways departed on the 20th of December 2021, from Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in Southern China where she has been built. She will be heading to Singapore for bunkering and provisions top up before further voyage to Europe.

The vessel is a RoPax vessel intended for short international voyages (excluding US waters). With 4500 lane meters, she became Danish DFDS’s (Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab) largest RoPax Ferry in terms of cargo capacity, with a deadweight of around 12,750 tons. Aura Seaways can accommodate 600 passengers and 62 crew members.

Aura Seaways fulfils the new design standards of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), and the CO2 emissions per trailer, which are more than 20% lower than on the vessels currently trading on the intended routes Karlshamn (Sweden) – Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Kiel (Germany) – Klaipeda.
