Stena Forth commences the Glaucus-2 assessment drilling works within Unit 10 in the AOZ of the Republic of Cyprus


The Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry announces that the work of the evaluation drill “Glaucus-2” in Block 10 of the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Republic of Cyprus has started, by the consortium ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Cyprus (Offshore) Limited and Qatar Petro LLC , which holds a Hydrocarbon Exploration License for the said Item.

The drilling works, carried out by the ship – drilling rig “Stena Forth”, will be monitored on a continuous basis by the staff of the Hydrocarbon Service, of the Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry.

Stena Forth is a 6th Generation Harsh Environment dual-activity dynamically positioned (DP3) drillship, capable of drilling in water depths up to 10,000ft. Stena Forth features several Stena Drilling upgrades including a split dual fluid system, a well centre transfer system for development drilling, and enhanced bed space.
