Ovzon receives renewed order from Airbus for the UK MoD

Ovzon has secured the contract renewal from Airbus for the UK Ministry of Defence. The renewal is for the use of Ovzon’s SATCOM-as-a-Service which includes satellite capacity and Ovzon’s industry-leading mobile satellite terminals.

The order is a 6-month extension of an initial order received earlier in 2021. The order value is 500,000 USD with contract starting in February 2022. UK MoD have already used Ovzon services successfully in different scenarios and needs. Among other things, Ovzon’s ultra-small mobile satellite terminals have been used to build a temporary network over a larger area with the capacity needed to integrate and connect various applications such as VoIP, radio services, and video streaming.

“We are pleased that Airbus has extended this contract with the UK Ministry of Defence. We are honored as this confirms the customers trust in Ovzon’s SATCOM-as-a-Service. We know that the demands on high mobility, adequate capacity coupled with the highest reliability are vital for units in life-critical environments. We are using these criteria as we design, develop and innovate our products and services. If it is vital for our customer, it is vital for us”, says Per Norén, CEO of Ovzon.
