SnakeWays and Can Marine Systems announce partnership


Integration of SnakeWays services into Can Marine Systems solutions brings advanced technology communications services to Singapore and the SE Asian market.

Maritime software and solutions provider SnakeWays GmbH and Can Marine Systems Pte Ltd. have announced a partnership that combines the innovative SnakeWays solutions with the exemplary service and support of Can Marine Systems.

Under the new agreement, Can Marine Systems, an affiliated company of Can Trader & Services Pte Ltd., based in Singapore, will act as the primary ASEAN distributor of the maritime communications services developed by SnakeWays.

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, SnakeWays are developing a new generation of ship-to-shore communication services using the latest available technologies. The result is a modular suite of services based in the cloud and hosted on board the vessel in the small, light, and low cost but powerful SnakeBox. (photos attached)

The SnakeBox manages the interfaces between the shipboard IT and communication networks such as Inmarsat, Iridium, VSAT and GSM. It hosts the SnakeWays services including SnakeMail, SnakeSwitch, SnakeWall, SnakeTrack and SnakeDoor together with a database storing emails, vessel configuration, reports, and device management.

The small footprint of the SnakeBox, the ease of installation and the smartphone technology on which it is based, makes the SnakeBox an ideal companion to the latest offerings of Iridium and KVH, Certus 100, 200 and the TracPhone V30 respectively. Can Marine Systems are a major distributor of both KVH and Iridium
