Congratulations to Thome Offshore Management Pte Ltd and Tasik Subsea AS, who last week won the Offshore Support Journal (OSJ) Safety Award for 2021. Vroon Offshore Services has continued its sponsorship of this Award, which was presented to Torbjorn Lie, Business Development Manager Thome Group, and John Giddens, CEO Tasik Subsea, by Niek Spiljard, Managing Director VOS Den Helder.

The annual Award goes to a company, person, project or product that has made a significant impact to safety in the offshore-support-vessel (OSV) industry. Thome Offshore Management Pte Ltd and Tasik Subsea AS were worthy joint winners, receiving this year’s Award for their work in achieving a world-first Infectious Disease Mitigation-Arrangement (IDM-A) notation by classification society American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Also on the shortlist was Viking Life-Saving, for its self-contained evacuation kit for wind-turbine tower-service technicians. The tower-evacuation kit fits snugly into what is currently an unused space between the platform handrails and the tower’s outer wall.

We are proud to sponsor the OSJ Safety Award. At Vroon Offshore Services, we commit to safe practices in all our operations and everyday actions. We have a duty of care for the safety and health of our employees and for those we serve. We believe safety is a ‘mindset’ and an integral part of our decision making.
