Siport21 will develop LNG bunkering operations simulator

Siport21 will develop, together with Gasnam, Naturgy, Cotenaval and ESK, SiBunker: LNG bunkering operations conceptual simulator. This software will be based on operation procedures and availability indicators according to the selected mode: STS, TTS or PTS. This project has been selected by the Spanish Department of Trade and Industry in a call for Innovative Business Groups.

SiBunker will be developed in 10 months and has a budget of up to 120 thousand euros. This tool helps decision making related to liquefied natural gas bunkering operations according to regulation and operation parameters: location (onshore or offshore), ship mooring conditions, metocean operation limits, risk assessment, maritime traffic interferences, downtime, or SimOps. The aim is to select the most suitable option in each case and to establish the optimum procedure.

This simulator allows improving safety in the operations based on a previous specific risk assessment and will facilitate decision-making both in nautical and process aspects. SiBunker is also designed as a learning and training tool for all players in the gas value chain.

Siport21 will develop the operation procedures and program the conceptual simulator based on their experience in LNG bunkering projects.

SiBunker is part of the innovative strategic objective of the company supported by industry 4.0.
