Intelsat, operator of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial network,announced that its FlexMove managed service has won the 2021 Mobile Satellite Users Association  award for Outstanding Leadership in Use of Mobile Solution. The award was presented to an Intelsat delegation during the 29^th annual MSUA Satellite Mobile Innovation Awards Ceremony yesterday in National Harbor, Maryland.

Designed to power data-intense applications anywhere they’re needed, Intelsat FlexMove seamlessly increases the reach, reliability, and redundancy of terrestrial networks while enabling a new generation of land mobile services.  Intelsat received the award for its ability to provide dependable, high-speed satellite connectivity for a telemedicine application in collaboration with Intelsat solutions partner, GRC.

GRC bundles the power of FlexMove, the ultra-portable Satcube VSAT terminal and their GRC SCYTALE secure connectivity to keep the British Royal Navy seamlessly connected while in the field dealing with fast-changing situations. As part of the Royal Navy, the Commando Forward Surgical Group (CFSG) goes wherever the Royal Marines deploy, no matter how remote. Taking telemedicine to new heights, CFSG depends on satellite communications technology to ensure a fast response as it treats casualties in the field. Because Marines often need to deploy quickly, the CFSG was looking for a lightweight, easy-to-set-up high-speed internet solution that provides secure, reliable real-time surgical guidance, among other uses. Intelsat FlexMove solves that need and is available globally, at any time for response teams and mission-critical operations, through valued partners like GRC.
