On August 7, an air separation column, the main part of the plant, was installed at the future production site of the liquefied gases’ plant in the Moglino Special Economic Zone.

“The 34-meter column arrived from Italy. Its delivery and installation is an important milestone in the construction of the plant on the territory of the special economic zone of industrial and production type Moglino.

The new plant will produce up to 90,000 tons of industrial, food and medical gases per year, including medical liquefied oxygen, which will facilitate to substitute for the existing supplies of liquefied oxygen and nitrogen from Estonia and Finland to the North-West of Russia, ”said Vitali Gromov, General Director for Elme Messer Gaas in Russia.

The column is necessary for air separation by the low-temperature rectification method and for obtaining of liquefied oxygen, nitrogen and argon, which are thereafter accumulated in cryogenic storage facilities for subsequent supply to the consumers.

The launch of the plant is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022. The new plant will ensure the consumers the quality of supplies and increase of sales in general throughout the North-West region, as well as in the central part of Russia. In addition, the presence of a powerful modern production resource in Moglino will enable the company to increase the volume of export supplies to the EU countries.

The project is supported by the Industrial Development Fund under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
