V.Group shortlisted for SAFETY4SEA Training Award 2021

V.Group has been nominated for the 2021 Training Award, which aims to reward any organisation that provided a significant achievement or breakthrough or significant contribution in any aspect of maritime training.

At V.Group, training and development of crew and colleagues is at the heart of all operations. Initiatives launched over the past 18 months show the Group’s commitment to achieving the highest standards. Pre COVID-19, V.Group recognised that the future of training and assessment was in cloud simulation and innovated the way training was delivered.

As well as COVID-19 specific online courses, including mental health and COVID-19 precaution training, multiple courses (virtual and face to face) are available to colleagues, focusing on overall competence enhancement – technical; behaviour; leadership and use of systems and technology.

Around 140,000 e-learning courses have been completed by our seafarers during H1 2021 – a 78% YOY increase vs 2020. 22,031 training days were recorded for either face to face or virtual courses in the first half of 2021.

Despite challenges presented by COVID-19, V.Group has continued to focus on providing excellent training opportunities for all colleagues. As a mark of its commitment to training, the Group has invested in innovative systems and formed strategic partnerships to ensure the highest industry standards.

“We are confident our plan to take the entire portfolio of training programs to the next level will help us to grow the professional acumen and capabilities of our seafarers.” Commented CAPT. SARTAJ GILL, MD of Training Services V.Group

The winners of each category will be determined by an online public vote, which is now live, and will be announced during the SAFETY4SEA Virtual Forum on 20th October 2021. To cast your vote, visit the 2021 SAFETY4SEA AWARDS website.
