Island Oil’s vessel Alexandria took part in EMSA’s oil spill drill in Limassol

The EMSA network of oil spill response vessels is always on standby to top up Member State capacities in case of a pollution event.

EMSA carries out regular drills to make sure the vessels are always ready to respond in case of an emergency.

Last week EMSA was in Cyprus, where the oil spill response vessel Alexandria of the Cyprus based marine bunker, Island Oil Holdings and the on-board Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) took part in a drill to test capabilities in response to a pollution incident, including boom and skimmer deployment as well as testing procedures and equipment – including the on board drone – to ensure that EMSA is ready at the request of member states in case of an oil spill incident.
