Hellenic Cables completed the subsea cable installation for the Skiathos-Mantoudi interconnection


The Greek island of Skiathos is now connected to the mainland. Hellenic Cables and its subsidiary Fulgor undertook the project and connected Skiathos with a 30 kilometer 150kV submarine cable system. Evangelia Samartzi, Plant Continuous Improvement Manager of Hellenic Cables said that the 30 kilometers of subsea cable was manufactured at Hellenic Cables’ plant in Corinth and laid in water depths of 200 meters. The Skiathos-Mantoudi interconnection is expected to be completed in April next year.
